Catalogue Launch and Stamp Camp

Gday Stampers,

On Saturday 12 September, myself and my awesome upline Coralee, held a Catalogue Launch and Stamp Camp. And what a fantastic day it was!!! We had 19 lovely ladies attend, they got to play with some of the new products, watch a demo by me on using the brayer and the bigshot embossing folders, do a make and take and then do four projects including making a drawer box and 2 each of 3 card designs to go inside the box. We got our inspiration from some awesome people out there in stamping land - Holly McMillen, Georgeann Manning, Beth Ann Wilson and Nicki Turner.

So here is the drawer box that we made.

And a close up of the top of the box.
And finally the three cards...

We would like to thank all the wonderful ladies that came to our first ever stamp camp! We have had some fantastic feedback and we are looking forward to our Christmas Stamp Camp which will be held on Sunday 14 November, so watch this space!!!

Cheers

Back to work :(

So as the title says, I have gone back to work today, after almost 6 months off on Maternity Leave. Oh my how it is difficult. I am sitting at my desk unable to do any work, because all of my work is done through our email program Lotus Notes and I can't access it. So sitting here yawning and trying to stay awake at the moment.

I have been really slack with my posting lately, but I promise now that I am back at work, that I will have more time for posting!

There are several exciting things happening in my space at the moment... Firstly, the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue was launched yesterday. There are sooooooooo many new and awesome products and of course the new colour collections as well as the tried trusted favourites. Secondly my upline, Coralee, and myself are holding a New Catalogue Launch and Stamp Camp on 12 September. We are both so very excited about this. We have 19 people booked in and can't wait to show off our projects and the new catalogue! Looking forward to showing you guys the projects as well.
Well I better pretend like I'm doing some work. Will be back with some pics really soon!!!

Cheers

Sorry for lack of posting lately!!!

G'day bloggers,

So I think that I told you in my last post that my gorgeous DD 4mths threw up on my laptop keyboard, causing several of the keys not to work, unfortunately ones that get used A LOT!!! So it has just been to frustrating for me to do any typing, hence no blogging and very little blurfing!!! So finally today I took it in to my dads shop (he owns a computing store) and he has ordered me a replacement and lent me a usb keyboard in the meantime! So here I am back again!

We went out to Yum Cha with family friends last weekend to celebrate my and another friends birthdays. Hers is 13 July and Mine 18 July, so we generally have it in between, but this year we had it early for both of us! We had recently decided that we would only give home made gifts for presents, but I think that this was supposed to be just for Christmas and I forgot, so I made her a card for herself and 4 cards to give away. I had recently found this gorgeous card on Leonie Hegarty's fabulous blog. I spend a lot of time perusing Leonie's blog and finding great ideas! Generally I make substantial changes to cards that I CASE, but I loved this card so much and loved the colours that I did a straight CASE except for the sentiment. Thanks Leonie, such a simple and very effective card! Sorry for the dodgy photography, but I forgot to photograph them at home before we went to Yum Cha, so had to use DM's camera.

And this is the card that I made for her. I was sooooooooo excited recently to be able to earn the Level 2 Hostess Set Asian Artistry and came up with the following card. This was done using Perfect Plum and Old Olive Markers direct to stamp.

And finally here is a pic of my DD at our yum cha lunch!!! I think she is beautiful!!

I did actually write this post a week ago, but then lost all the pics, so had to find them again, so there will be another post tomorrow! And yes, I finally have my keyboard replaced!!! So excited!!!

Thanks for popping by!!!

Secret Sister card received in May

G’day stampers

I belong to a fantastic group that attend a monthly class at my upline, Coralee’s house, the same great group that attended my class last week. Coralee suggested we do a Secret Sister card swap within our group. So each month we are assigned a member of the group and we have to make them a card and post it to them. So this means that every month we each receive a gorgeous card. For May, I was lucky enough to receive an absolutely fantastic card from Coralee in my current favourite colour, rich razzleberry and my fave DSP cottage wall. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!

Cheers

Mum's big birthday!!!

Hi Everyone,

Well it was my awesome mum's 50th birthday this past Tuesday and we had a family dinner last Saturday night for her and her twin sister Sandy. My little blossom wasn't well all day, so I spent the whole day sitting on the lounge with her asleep on me. Once my DP got up (he was sleeping after nightshift), I rushed to the dining table to whip up the birthday cards. For mum's birthday last year (or it might have been the Christmas before), I bought her the Stipple Rose stamp. After checking out SCS back when I bought it, I found some great ideas and the one that I decided to try was the split negative technique. I learnt the hard way a few things about how to best do this technique, because I seem to try stuff without looking at tutorials and stuff them up, but I guess thats a good way of learning!

Ok so while I was typing this my DD just vomited all over my laptop that is younger than she is... Now having trouble typing, I did something to it whilst cleaning it, oh dear... And now it won't work at all... so on DP's laptop.

So here is a picture of the two cards together.

Both Mum and Sandy really liked the cards and had a great time at their lunch and two dinners, and the tiramisu and lemon tarts that I made went down a treat.

Thanks for dropping by.

First monthly class - Other 2 cards

Hello Everyone,

I promised you that I would be back to post the other two cards that we made at my first monthly class. The second card we made that night was using the Sweet Treat Cups. These are fantastic, such a bargain, only 6.50 for a pack of 12 and there are so many different things that you can do with them. I used the snow globe technique for this class and a special thanks goes to the wonderful Andrea Lowcock for the tutorial for this technique.

So here it is. I wasn't very happy with my first sample, it was a bit slap happy, but I liked the colours, so kept it and made another in a different colour combination.

Sample 1

Stamps: A Little Treat, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Whisper White CS, Pacific Point CS, Pumpkin Pie CS
Ink: Pacific Point, Elegant Eggplant Marker (This was one of the things I disliked about the original sample)
Accessories: Sweet Treat Cups, Fine Supernova Glitter - Pink and Aqua, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, water

Sample 2

Stamps: Little Angel, A Little Treat

Card: Whisper White CS, Pacific Point CS, Pixie Pink CS
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories: Sweet Treat Cups, Fine Supernova Glitter - Pink and Aqua, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, water
The third card of the night was a very simple and quick card that was CASE'd from Regina.

Due to a few baby issues, I was VERY unorganised for this class, I knew exactly what we were making, but hadn't done all the prep, including not having done the sample for this card. I actually finished the sample 15 minutes before the class arrived, thankfully I had cut all their kits for it, knowing exactly how I was going to do it. So due to my tardiness in creating the sample, I didn't have enough time to make it how I would have liked it to look for the final product, however I got the class to do it how I would have! Stamping the monkeys in Chocolate Chip, instead of Ballet Blue, and I think that this looked a lot better, the girls assured me that this one looked fine though (thanks girls)! So I think that it really taught me to be a bit better organised, or just to let the baby cry... lol.

Stamps: Fox and Friends, On Your Birthday

Card: Whisper White CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Ballet Blue CS
Ink: Ballet Blue
Accessories: Star Punch, Large Star Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch

These were both a lot of fun to make. If you are interested in doing a class or workshop and learning how to make them, email me.

Thanks for dropping by.

Hugs

First monthly class

Hello Everyone,

Today was a bit of a difficult day for me. It was my dd's 3 month birthday and also her first day at daycare. We were offered a position 2 days a week, (we had originally asked for her to start late July/August) and with the way childcare is in Canberra, we couldn't knock back the position, even though it is an expense we really don't need at the moment...

So she had the best sleep last night, 22.30 - 8.15, certainly can't complain about that! And once we organised ourselves and her, we dropped her off about 9.20. We were very happy to be told when we arrived that Fridays is their quiet day, and sure enough, she was one of only 4 kids in the nursery room and there were 3 carers. The carers are fantastic and she had a really good day. We went off and had breakfast at Coffee Club and did a bit of shopping, I then picked up a cake for my darling mother and Aunty's 50th birthday party tomorrow night and went and got my dd, by then it was 15.20, no idea where the day went, but it sure went! Apparently she was really good, so I certainly can't complain, and I can't wait until next Friday, because of course her days are Monday and Friday and Monday is a public holiday!

Anyway, enough about my day, I wanted to post the cards that we made in my first monthly class that I held last Thursday. I have been attending classes with this group for the past 2 years, held by my Stampin' Up! Upline the lovely Coralee. Well Coralee is currently off gallivanting around America (green with envy!), so I suggested that I would hold her class for her while she was away, we then decided that maybe our classes should be fortnightly again and that I would run one fortnight and Coralee the other fortnight. So I ran it at her house, seeing as everyone knows where that is. I think it ran really well. It started off a little shaky, I started with quite a complex card and didn't have written instructions and had trouble explaining what they should be doing, and with a crying baby, that didn't help! The card was a CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) of a gorgeous card that I was sent by the fantastic Tanya Kitto in a Secret Sister Swap I was involved with last year. I loved this Diagonal Double Pocket card so much, I just had to CASE it and sent it to my Secret Sister for May. I then used this as my sample for our class.

This is the front of the card.
This is a look at what was on the tabs that slipped into the card.

Stamps: Fresh Cuts, Best Yet (Level 1 09/10 Hostess Set)
Card: Urban Garden DSP, Basic Grey CS, Kiwi Kiss CS, Whisper White CS
Ink: Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Urban West rub-ons (retired), Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Double Rectangle Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch

Now this post is already really long, so I will come back later and show you the other two cards we made.

Thanks for looking.

Hugs
